Abstract. The phenomenon of the children’s growth in height and weight, between 11 and 15 years old, presents a behavior characteristic to the sex and the age within the analyzed interval. Using the height and the body weight indexes as indicators of the growing process, the study emphasized that there is an accelerated growth period both for boy and girls between the ages of 12-14. The girls display a development corresponding to their age, with an optimal report between the growth in height and weight, while, for the boys, the growth in weight is excessive comparing to the one in height. This phenomenon lasts for the entire observed age interval.
