program used in this paper, estimates anthropometrically actual and
ideal parameters of the analyzed subject, calculating
individual basal metabolic rate and thermal effect of feeding, and uses
the distributions of macro and micronutrients
appropriate for the subject (meaning recommended daily
doses), analyzed to the end, concerted menu, evaluating and correcting,
optimizing the diet. In this paper we present a concrete case which
illustrates the possibilities of this method for the benefit of the
athlete. Although the procedure can be laborious, the effort of
optimization is justified.
