Abstract
The
article presents the major stretching techniques in neuro-muscular
rehabilitation, because the maintenance of a full, on-restricted ROM is
one of the major goals of a rehabilitation program. There are 3 types
of stretching techniques (ballistic, static and PNF) and each of them
has advantages and disadvantages, which are reviewed and discussed in
the article. Ballistic stretching is used for active people, static
stretching is indicated for untrained individuals and PNF stretching is
the best method to improve flexibility.
Key
words:flexibility,
