Abstract
The purpose
of this study was to determinate
the parameters of the
heart rate variability (HRV), calculated in time domain and frequency
domain and to find their relations with the parameters of growth, in
healthy children. The experimental lot was composed of 100 healthy
children, aged 7-16 years old , 5 boys and 5 girls for each group of
age. At these children we have measured: height, weight, body surface
and we have recorded the electrocardiogram on short time (2-5
minutes), in basal conditions. HRV parameters in time domain (mean,
standard deviation, etc.) had a mean and unliniary correlation to
growth parameters. HRV parameters in frequency domain (spectral
analyses of low frequency-LF, high frequency-HF, power spectral
density-PT, etc.) have, also, had a mean correlation to growth
parameters, but they have indicated a great interindividual
variability for every group of age and sex from the lot investigated.
We
propose the values obtained for time and frequency domain parameters
as reference values in order to estimate the growth of normal
children, ill children and, also, for estimating the exercise or
training of children that practice performance sports.
