Abstract
The
incomplete ruptures of Achilles tendon are relatively common for
athletes or former professional athletes. The treatment for such
rupture is done most often conservatively, with immobilization in
plaster casts or orthotics. The results got by the orthopedic surgeon
are classified as being good, because only the criteria related to
daily activities are taken into account. The situation changes
radically if the patient has a recreational sport activity, in which
case, the same functional result, initially good, becomes a modest one.
The current study aims to evaluate the functional results of a group of
21 patients with incomplete rupture of Achilles tendon, using Foot
& Ankle Disability Index (FADI) Score, which refers to daily
activities, but also using the sports module, which is a supplement of
FADI score and which takes into account sports activities.
