Abstract

Meniscal injury or tearing is a common source of knee pain, disability, limitation of function and interference with athletic & recreation pursuits. The knee menisci were once thought to be functionless remnants of leg muscles and expendable components of the knee. The menisci are now known to play an important role in the complex bio-mechanics of the knee. Management of patient with meniscal injuries requires an appreciation of pathologic process, natural history of problem and an understanding of crucial bio-mechanical role played by the menisci. This case report projects the importance of accelerated approach of early rehabilitation in terms of treatment protocol.
