Abstract.
New parameters which
evaluate arterial
stiffness can be assessed in ambulatory settings: pulse pressure (PP),.
Patients and methods: 112 patients with metabolic sindrom, blood
pressure (BP) values in the range: systolic blood pressure (SBP)
=130-159mmHg and/or diastolic blood pressure (DBP)=85-99mmHg were
included in a 3 month life style changing program. They were divided
into 2 groups: group Bincluded sedentary or untrained subjects (58p)
and group A included trained individuals (54p). The group A were
trained at a intensity between 70-80% reached at exercise test.
Hemodynamic parameters: SBP, DBP MBP, PP, HR, WaC, CT, LDLc, risc
SCORE, capacity of effort, were evaluated initial and after 3 months.
We observed at group A: SBP decreased with 8.8(+/-7.5) mmHg; DBP
decreases with 4.1(+/-4.5) mmHg ; mean blood pressure (MBP) decreases
with 4.1 (+/-4.2) mmHg; pulse pressure (PP) decreases with 4.6 (+/-3.4)
mmHg ; heart rate (HR) decrease with 9.1 +/-7.8 beats/min ; total
cholesterol (TC) diminish with 55.5 +/-57.6 mg/dl; LDL cholesterol
decreased with 42.1 +/-39.1 mg/dl ; waist circumference (WaC) decreased
with 2.8 +/-2.5 cm ; the capacity of effort increased with 21.5 W ; the
SCORE risk decreases with 2.1 (+/-1.6) % ; the number of smokers
decreases form 21 to 8 , and at group B: SBP decreased with 3.1
(+/-7.1) mmHg; DBP decreases with 2.1 (+/-3.9) mmHg; mean blood
pressure (MBP) decreases with 1.9 (+/-3.8) mmHg; pulse pressure (PP)
decreases with 1.1 (+/-3.4) mmHg ; heart rate (HR) decrease with 2.1
+/-6.8 beats/min ; total cholesterol (TC) diminish with 21.2 +/-57.6
mg/dl; LDL cholesterol decreased with 11.1 +/-35.5 mg/dl; waist
circumference (WaC) decreased with 0.5 +/-2.5 cm; the capacity of
effort decreased with 4.5 W; the SCORE risk decreases with 0.4 (+/-1.6)
%; the number of smokers decreases form 22 to 17. The exercise training
decrease the hemodinamic parameters. Regular exercise has an positive
impact on arterial stiffness with metabolic syndrome. Cardiac
rehabilitation has an positive effect on risk parameters such as waist
circumference total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol, also on total risk
SCORE.Exercise training is play an important role in quitting smoking
at hypertensive patients. Patients who smoke are less in group A than
in group B – sedentary group.
